Volpak, a Coesia company, leader in the design and manufacturing of pouching machines and solutions, will participate at the Interpack trade fair, from 7 to 13 May 2020, to showcase its latest innovations. The result of over forty years of investment in product and process innovation to support a consumer industry that is moving increasingly faster, with a renewed focus on sustainability and efficiency with flexibility.
SC+ – High-speed HFFS machine, now in a ‘sustainable ready’ version
The company will showcase three machines, all with sustainable ready versions, selected to represent a wide range of solutions capable of meeting the packaging needs of consumer goods companies, from high to low speed and with ample flexibility in terms of formats, from ‘flat pouch’ to reclosable ‘doypack style pouch’ with zipper, and corner cap options. According to the company, the star of the stand will be the SC+ machine. It is a continuous high-speed pouching machine and the leader in the HFFS range, already adopted by a global client base. The SC+ exhibited at Interpack will be producing 1-liter ‘doypacks’ with corner cap at speeds of 280 pieces in a minute, equipped with features as quick size changeover and the capability to run with recyclable material, ensuring our customers a sustainable solution.
The system integration (SI) platform, features all the internet 4.0 capabilities needed nowadays as well as the ability to run recyclable materials, will be present with the SI280 model, running in an integrated line with a RAJ cartoner and Flexlink’s conveying and palletizing solution. Last but not least, the Enflex line will be showcased with the new F-17DX machine, a flat pouch, and easy to handle the machine.
Beyond machines: achieving sustainability through partnerships
Volpak’s objective at Interpack is also to highlight and strengthen a new concept of collaboration. This includes the involvement of every player in the value chain, from machine suppliers to packaging material producers to the end customer, to develop sustainable and added value projects for the society. For this reason, in 2019 Volpak created the PouchLab, a research and development focused venue, where customers and partners carry out various tests to evaluate different materials’ technology features and to define, case-by-case, the optimal pouch packaging, taking into consideration sustainability, ease of use and shelf life needs. Volpak will be available at Hall 6, Stand D57.
The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.
The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.
Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.
As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.
